Beta Glass revamps leadership team and completes furnace investment

, Beta Glass

Beta Glass has revamped its leadership with three appointments to its executive team.

The Nigerian-located glass manufacturer has also appointed a new chairman and five board members.

Recently, the company also completed a cold repair in the GF1 furnace of Guinea Plant, its manufacturing facility in Agbara, Ogun State.

The investment will increase production by 30 tons per day and extend the lifecycle of the furnace by eight to 10 years.

The company made changes to its top executive team with the arrival of new CEO, Alex Gendis, new CFO, Hélène Paradisi, and the appointment of Jagdish Agarwal as COO.

Mr Agarwal (below) is well-known in the glass container industry with more than 35 years of experience, 20 of which at Beta Glass, where he led manufacturing operations before being appointed COO.

Mr Gendis has 25 years of global experience in the manufacturing and packaging sectors, and expertise in supply chain management, marketing and team leadership.

Ms Paradisi is a senior accounting and financial management professional and had led initiatives that have increased efficiency, boosted operational effectiveness and driven growth.

All three executives have served many years in leadership positions across the wider African market, including Nigeria, which will be invaluable for Beta Glass and its business objectives in the region.

In 2024 Beta Glass enhanced its Board of Directors, with new Chairman Dr Vitus Chidiebere Ezinwa and five new Board members with experience inglobal and African organisations.

Beta Glass also recently completed the relocation of its administrative offices to Victoria Island, Lagos, which will allow for closer engagement with customers and partners.

Beta Glass, which is the Frigoglass Group’s glass business vertical, makes glass containers and serves sectors including the soft drinks, beer, spirits, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries in West and Central Africa.

It operates three manufacturing plants in Nigeria, with a daily capacity of 720 tonnes per day and annual production in excess of 650 million bottles and jars.

The transformation of Beta Glass includes a fresh brand identity with a new logo; and a new website, available in English and French.
